HEY JAMES COMEY, JOIN THE CLUB!
FBI Director Jameds Comey (Photo: ABC News)
So no one can disagree that James Comey tore Hillary Clinton apart in his presentation the other day. However that didn’t seem to be enough for the Republican Party. Comey who uncharacteristically commented on the inner works of an investigation is still being assailed by the GOP because he just didn’t do enough.
The bigmouth bully host on Morning Joe, Joe “I was in Congress, yep by golly” even went so far as to say Comey was a coward.
Comey who has been an upstanding FBI official, a person who is politically one of theirs is already persona non gratta with the GOP because he didn’t announce an indictment.
So James Comey, join the club. You are now officially hated by the party of no.

RYAN WANTS AN INVESTIGATION

As the GOP Congress declined to take a vote on guns, they did want to take action on investigating the FBI probe of Clinton’s e mails.
This is the same Congress that spent 7 million on Benghazzi, and wants to spend more on an investigation into what the FBI did. All of a sudden Congress knows better than the FBI?
Yet this is the same Congress who will spend money on investigations while they deny disaster relief for floods and tornadoes until it can pay for it and who by the way cut security funding for U.S Embassy protection.
These GOP members need to go.

JIM McNULTY’S DREAM REALIZED

The late Scranton MayorJim McNulty with your blog editor last year at McNulty's 70th birthday. (Photo: Mrs. LuLac)
The summer before Scranton Mayor Jim McNulty died, I’d have conversations with him about politics. The Mayor was excited about the prospect of a Joe Biden vs. Hillary Clinton race. McNulty was convinced Biden would run. He felt Biden might not be successful but envisioned a great meeting in Scranton where Biden the hometown son and Hillary Clinton, Scranton’s adopted daughter would return triumphant in their own manner and way.
Jim McNulty always was a man of vision. I thought about our conversations when the announcement was made the other day.
Too bad the Mayor’s physical presence will be absent but I can assure his spirit will be floating around Friday in the city.

BARLETTA BACKS COMPREHENSIVE MENTAL HEALTH REFORM
BILL ADDRESSES MORE THAN 10 MILLION AMERICANS SUFFERING, UNTOLD OTHERS UNDIAGNOSED
Congressman Lou Barletta (Photo: LuLac archives)
Congressman Lou Barletta voted in favor of sweeping legislation to reform the mental health system, addressing the needs of more than 10 million Americans facing serious mental illness and the countless others who go without diagnosis or treatment. The Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act (H.R. 2646), authored by Rep. Tim Murphy (PA-18), breaks down federal barriers to care, clarifies privacy standards for families and caregivers; reforms outdated programs, expands parity accountability, and invests in services for the most difficult to treat cases while driving evidence-based care. H.R. 2646 passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 422-to-2.
“For too long, people with mental illnesses have been stigmatized and neglected by a health care system that did not adequately respond to their needs,” Barletta said. “This is important legislation that will help individuals and families identify and treat conditions that have impacted so many lives.”
