SOME FACTS ABOUT GUNS AND THE WORLD

(Photo: Huffington Post.com)
There are 7.13 billion people in the world.
The population of the U.S, makes up just 4.43%.
In the world, populated by that 7.13 billion people 844 million guns are owned by civilians.
The guns owned by civilians in the United States is at 42%. (Steve Ratner, MSNBC News)
So no one has done anything to take away our guns. If anything gun sales have increased.
The stories I’ve heard on talk radio, both local and national about how the President wants to somehow nationalize a police force is absurd. No one has taken away any guns.
But here’s a question. If we have so many guns, why are we the country with the most gun violence? Aren’t guns supposed to protect us?

IT MIGHT BE THE WIFE

(Photo: CNN)

More news is coming out about the couple who killed people in California the other day. The two met on the internet. The male was born here, had a sweet job in California and seemed pretty quiet. But then he meets a woman on line, marries her in a mosque, brings her back home courtesy of a visa and they are supposed to live happily ever after, right?
70 k a year, the warm California sun and a baby daughter. Wifie has her burka firmly in place, hubbie prays at the mosque. Co workers say he wouldn’t say crap if he had a mouthful. But yet they find tons of ammunition and pipe bombs afterwards.
Not a conspiracy theorists like that a-hole Clyde heard midnights on a local radio station BUT what if this poor sap was influenced by a modern day Mata Hari? Could he have been targeted from the start?

Just wondering.

EAST STROUDSBURG STRESS????

(Photo: tekniksualti.com)
Okay so I’m doing work on the computer and I hear a local news story about how officials at East Stroudsburg State College are helping students there coping with finals. It appears that the students there are having high anxiety over finals and the school has provided counseling, massages and other amenities to get the kids through this very rough time in their lives. They are called “Stress relief stations”.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
These are final exams for a semester. You eliminate stress by studying, not drinking your asses off the entire time you’re on campus. When I went to college, you did the work, took the exams and wouldn’t dare complain to our Depression era parents about “the stress” a college education was causing us. I once handed in a final and the professor handed a section back. On the top was written “horseshit”. He told me to do it over and I did. I didn’t collapse and wilt and need a shoulder to cry on. I did it over and when I got it back it just said “better”.
A friend I went to King’s with used to get extensions on his finals. On Christmas Eve he’d be at the college radio station working on three papers at the same time. The only stress reliever he had was the vending machine down the hall selling coffee.
For those students at East Stroudsburg State who are stressing over exams, let me enlighten you about what is stressful in this life.
1. Trying to raise a disabled child.
2. Trying to be a single parent.
3. Not having a job.
4. Getting the crap beat out of you by a spouse.
5. Trying to pay your mortgage when money is tight.
6. Cancer.
7. Aging parents.
8. Faulty schools because some of the teachers, not all, are populated by recent underclassmen who were terrified by stress.
9. Fighting in a war.
10. Being a cop.
Speaking of war, there has been talk that perhaps we might need a lot of ground forces to eliminate ISIS. Can you imagine if we had a President who re instituted The Draft? Can you imagine the majority of young people getting drafted?
I can just see it now. “Stress” tents on the front lines and an Allergy free chow line!
Stress my ass.
Study, take the damn test and quit whining. And as far as the school enabling this, if I were Governor I’d cut their funding outright. That’ll show East Stroudsburg State College what stress really is all about!
