The Wilkes Barre Area School Board has once more outdone itself and is now on the verge of setting a record for spectacular stupidity. From the Times Leader’s Mark Guydish:
The Wilkes-Barre Area School Board adopted a new professional employee hiring policy tonight that has a strict ban against hiring a “father, mother, brother, sister, brother-in-law,sister-in-law, spouse, son or daughter” of a board member and, then voted to hire the father of Board Member Denise Thomas.
Thomas abstained as the board hired Anthony Thomas as a substitute security greeter and/or substitute traveling security greeter. Board Members Christine Katsock and Rev. Shawn Wallace voted no. Katsock, who has a long record of voting no for any relative of board members, said after the meeting that the new policy did not apply because the security greeter job is not a “professional position.”
So now we are parsing who is a professional and not a professional.

But they aren’t related to Denise Thomas, herself a former Wilkes Barre Area School District employee.
When will this school district, its members and relatives understand the definition of this word: SHAME.
CIPRIANI EVENT A SUCCESS
Eileen Cipriani, candidate for the 120th District seat in the State House had a huge turnout Saturday afternoon for her Pig Roast event. More than 250 people came out on a humid September Saturday afternoon.
Cipriani is running for the open seat vacated by Phyllis Mundy. Cipriani has been on the campaign trail nonstop and is taking nothing for granted.
The candidate is also piling up the endorsements, just look at the people and organization backing her.

So a few teenage morons decided to play a prank last week on a young man with autism. They convinced him they were doing the Ice Bucket ALS challenge but instead of dumping ice on him, they dumped a bucket full of urine, feces and spit on him.The Ohio town is outraged and Drew Carey, an Ohio proud guy even ponied up $10,000 to find the suspects. Apparently that worked because police have announced they have suspects in mind. And to prove how truly stupid these jerks were, they put it on video. There are segments of society that just can’t be civilized. Just punishment for these guys? Ask me in person.
